Doc's Friends | About The Band
|
|
|
Some guys got together at my house summer of 2004 to play for my
neighbor Leon who was ill. He enjoyed it and so did we. Some of
us decided to get together and play; but, it
was very difficult to find a time to get together. I thought it might
be a good ministry tool since so many people in our area like gospel and
bluegrass music. In the fall of 2005,we were
able to start a "Jubilee" ministry on Wednesday nites
at Eastside Baptist
Church in Paragould. We have continued that
ministry and out of that has evolved a band. In 2006,we were asked
to play at local schools, churches, and civic groups.
For a presentation February 19,2007 for Greene
County Baptist Associational meeting at New
Haven church, we were asked to give them a name for
our group. After much consideration and a vote of 6 to 1, we became Doc's
Friends on February 7,2007. We play acoustic
bluegrass gospel music. We play some original songs, classics, and
newer songs.
